Tiffany Smith, Owner

Welcome to Little Explorers, where learning and care come together in a nurturing environment! My name is Tiffany Smith, and I'm the proud owner and operator of this state-licensed in-home daycare in Leawood, Kansas. As a mom of three, with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Teaching, specializing in Gifted Education, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our program.

My journey in education spans over 16 years, with 13 of those years dedicated to elementary teaching. During my academic pursuit, I also served as a lead teacher in a preschool for several years. This dual experience has deepened my understanding of early childhood development and solidified my belief in the power of play-based learning.

My teaching philosophy for young children is rooted in the belief that every child can learn through play. At Little Explorers, I strive to create an environment where every child feels safe and comfortable to explore their surroundings freely. Here, they are encouraged to learn and solve problems, build relationships, collaborate with others, and embrace the process of trying and failing as part of their growth journey.

Safety is paramount at Little Explorers in-home daycare. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and I continually update my skills to ensure the well-being of every child in my care. Additionally, I have received specialized nutrition training through the Child Care Food Program, ensuring that your child receives wholesome and balanced meals during their time with us.

No matter your child’s age, at Little Explorers, they will find a supportive and engaging environment where they can explore, learn, and thrive. I am deeply committed to nurturing their sense of self-value, confidence, imagination, and a feeling of being accepted for who they are through PLAY! I look forward to welcoming your family into ours!
